Studio Policy

Philosophy

Music is one of the deepest forms of human expression, and we consider it a privilege to guide students of all ages in unlocking their musical voice. We believe music is a universal language that connects us across generations, cultures, and experiences. Our teaching nurtures confidence, musical literacy, and creativity, empowering students to explore, play, and internalize the music they love. We aim to inspire life-long musicianship and a meaningful personal relationship with music that extends far beyond lessons.

Parent Expectations

• Support consistent practice
• Encourage performance at home
• Maintain a positive musical environment

Student Expectations

• Practice at least 5 days per week
  • Beginners: 10 minutes per day
  • 1 or more years of experience: 15 to 20 minutes per day
• Participate in the annual recital unless illness or emergency
• Arrive prepared and engaged in lessons

Tuition

Tuition is based on weekly 30-minute lessons and covers:

• Lesson instruction
• Recital and performance costs
• Lesson preparation, communication, and administrative time
• Studio materials and student incentives

Monthly Tuition Pricing *Prices include months with 5 weeks

30-Minute Weekly Lesson…. $210

45-Minute Weekly Lesson…. $300

60-Minute Weekly Lesson…. $360

Payment

• Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of every month. 
• Payment reminder is sent on the 27th of the month.
• Tuition payment will be accepted through Zelle, Venmo, Debit/Credit card.

  • $30.00 late fee for tuition not paid by the 5th of the month.

Recitals 

One in a Melody will host three recitals per year. Two will be in the spring semester and one will be within the 1st two weeks of December before our winter break. Students are encouraged to attend all three recitals, but only the End of Year Recital is required. Recitals are free to attend and are open to family and friends. It’s fun to show off your hard work!

Make-Up Policy

There are two dedicated Make-Up Lesson Days each month:

The first Friday and the last Saturday of the month.

What This Means for You

• Your monthly tuition reserves your lesson time at One in a Melody and will remain the same each month, regardless of missed lessons.
• If you need to miss a lesson, you will have the opportunity to attend a make-up session on either the first Friday or last Saturday of the month, or scheduled school holidays.
• Make-up lessons must be used within three months of the original missed lesson.
• If I need to cancel a lesson due to illness or an emergency, I will provide a make-up opportunity on one of the scheduled Make-Up Lesson Days.

Studio Breaks & Tuition Adjustments:

• The first week of January
• The first two weeks of August
• Thanksgiving week (November)
• The last two weeks of December

· August and December tuition will be discounted by 50% 

· Tuition will remain the same in all other months, including January and November 

Lessons missed without 24-hour notice will be eligible for a make-up lesson at the teacher's discretion.
